I can’t believe we’re here already. 2016. A whole new year is upon us. While that’s great and exciting because it’s another fresh start, I really enjoyed the couple months leading up to Christmas. It was a busy time filled with weddings, portrait sessions, lifestyle
sessions and various Holiday mini sessions. I loved every single one. This particular one is very dear to me, the Rodoni family. I remember when she first announced her pregnancy, then when she asked me to take her maternity photos, then again when her little baby Noah was born, to capture those precious moments with a newborn session! As Noah approached his 1 year of birth, Amanda asked me to capture their family during her (and mine) favorite time of year, Christmas! She wanted raw, intimate and fun photos that Noah could one day look back on and smile at. I love that and I throughly enjoyed working with Amanda. It’s always fun working with someone who is also creative and willing to try anything. So we started a (secret) Pinterest board for inspiration and let the fun begin.
We added all kinds of Christmas inspiration from various portrait sessions that inspired us both but, also fit the theme. We knew right away we wanted it to be at a Christmas tree farm so we let that be the main theme of their family lifestyle portrait session. Once we had enough pins, the clothing for all 3 of them came together as we’d text each other ideas and links. We couldn’t have asked for better weather the day of the shoot. It wasn’t too sunny or too cold. It was perfect really. I love when God hooks up the lighting for an amazing shoot.
I had so much fun shooting this session and how adorable is little Noah? While I love shooting weddings, I have a special love for shooting lifestyle portrait sessions that include families, newborn and maternity. It’s just so special to capture these moments.
